I honestly think far cry 5 is better than 3. Aside from Vaas Montenegro, 5 is superior.

Far cry (1) best out of the series.

Jim- Do you believe we’re slowly entering an era of gaming in which new games will slowly appear on shelves less and less as developers constantly push to remaster and re-release old titles to please fans? Don’t get me wrong, a lot of these recent remasters over the last couple years are good, solid games, but it seems a shame to me that developers seem to be putting more effort into recycling and re-releasing old titles as opposed to focusing their effort and attention into making new, innovative titles that will capture gamer’s hearts like old titles have. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but it seems remasters have become something of a norm over the last couple years, while there’s been very few actual standout titles that could be considered amazing games.

There’s no 3D sound for this on Xbox, everything sounds like it’s right beside you.....

The amount of times I almost broke my controller while playing this game is insane, it's so fucking hard, I literally had to put it on easy, and I'm still raging, maybe I just suck at the game.

Finally, someone else realized how high fall damage is
Scott Symons (2 months ago)
Playing through it now and it's ok, but i'm struggling to be interested. And i agree with the towers, fuck me they suck. I should add, i completed this on Xbox 360 so i'm going back to an old game essentially. This isn't my first experience with this.
manniefaces (2 months ago)
We totally needed this game.

I can't completly agree with you there Jim. The radio towers are for me quite obvious why they where there and they were clearly there as a design element. They are there as a good way of showing you what you can do in the surrounding area. That is why it spins around and shows you landmarks around you when you unlock them. It also gave you a good way to access all those things. It had ropes and cars and when you got the wingsuit you could fly from the towers to any of these areas around it. That being said, I of course agree that they were not well implemented and might have been a solution to a non-existing problem. The players had a map if they wanted to find stuff to do and if they didnt use that it can be argued that it isn't anything wrong with just letting the players find all that stuff on their own. And if they needed to be there they should have been implemented with more fun content (maybe teach the player of mechanics used in the area or something). The areas surrounding it should also have been better fleshed out. Usually they looked cool but when you got there there were nothing there. Sometimes there were a couple of bad guys but sometimes not even that from what I remember. So all in all the Ubisoft empty-open-world was in my mind what failed the towers as well as the repedativeness of them themselves, not really that they were pure bad design.

Honestly this video gave a very poor review of Far Cry 3 in my opinion. The vast majority of the time I felt free to do what I want, even with the restrictions of radio towers etc, and even after I finished the game I still had hours of orgasmic pleasure fucking up pirates. The story was worthy of Alex Jones himself, and having replayed it 4 times it still manages to keep a constant erection with ease. Looks good as fuck as well.
Mingus OG (2 months ago)
Farcry 3 was an amazing game for its time, and is still an amazing game to replay here and there, but re-releasing it, changing nothing and calling it "classic edition" really shows its age and doesn't make it look very good.
Darth Vander (2 months ago)
If people played games on PC we would have no need for these stupid remaster editions. You can just play the original game LOL for like two bucks most of the time

I believe the fall damage is done on purpose for symbolism. Look up the far cry 3 symmetry theory

The towers sorta forced you to check out new locations was it a fun thing to do? hell no it was just an easy climb but afterwards you learned about areas that were secret and it made you want to explore that area.
Silvio Roberto (2 months ago)
This game should be 60fps.
Red Black Alliance (2 months ago)
I like how to activate the radio towers you knock out the circuitry that makes a radio work and flip a couple of switches that aren't connected to any circuitry.
Fried Sallad (3 months ago)
The towers in far cry 3 were fun, change my mind.

The map editor was sick, fresh maps, race tracks, team death, vehicles included, boats, no micro transactions. Map editor really had me living the game. Love too all the map creators out there who didn't get too have players trying it out, fuck Ubisoft for ruining a classic title. Fuck current far cry games, fuck them for ruining such a good thing with thier stupid ass design, removal of vehicles because thier cheap asses. Fuck Ubisoft just do something right. What is money worth if they do *fuck all* with it!
CrazySpaceTaco (3 months ago)
I think, regarding the fall damage, I imagine if you have all four weapon slots filled, with stuff in your backpack and a belt of various throwing items, that it makes sense that the fall damage is so severe. I don't know the weight of all of the weapons, items, and gear, but I imagine it would be quite heavy. This argument doesn't work if you have just a pistol and a playing card or something, but if you have a crap ton of stuff on you, it might hurt to fall from a mediocre height. Although that doesn't really matter since by then you'll likely already have the reduced fall damage upgrade. I think maybe it was a poor and unneeded attempt at realism.
DewMan001 (3 months ago)
Jim you shouldn't have told about Michael Mando. 1) oh wow he really does look like vaas. 2) Fuck me he's a handsome fella! I've got stuff to do Jim! I can't just sit around looking at pictures of Michael Mando all day and wondering if he'd grow the mowhawk out for me when we get together! 🙃🙃

One of my favorite games of all time. Such a masterpiece! It's probably the only game with collectibles and side-quests that I've completed 100%, loved every part of it.

Nothing about this game is fun. Far cry 2 to this day is better than all of them combined.

Far Cry 3 is an American liberal's wet dream - a wealthy white person "saving" Brown people from themselves while killing a fuck ton of those same Brown people in the process. White supremacy, it's the American way...

SoulScr3am (3 months ago)
I liked the radio towers, one of the things i miss the most in Far Cry 5. Why i like it? Well it gives you an excuse to climb up to a tall area to look at the view, something i do often in video games, especially in games like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. It makes sense that a tall area reveals more of the map. Zelda Breath of The Wild did this PERFECTLY, where you need to scout the area yourself once you reach the top of the tower. Also it gives you something else to do that doesn't involve killing, and that is something Far Cry lacks, other stuff to do besides killing, liberating and blow up things.
Ledge_pls (3 months ago)
I know I'm in the minority but FC3 was my first big Ubisoft game I played and I actually liked the sweaty palms, deadly height climbing thing. By the last few towers it def got repetitive, but I didnt hate them till they were regurgitated in FC4.

The thing that always bugged me in far cry 3 is that the entire map is mirrored! If you pay close attention to the sky you realise that the sun rises in the west and sets in the east! Total immersion breaker for me, how fucking lazy!
Darksepheroth (3 months ago)
You were wayyy too hard on this. I enjoyed the rerelease.
Uriel238 (3 months ago)
What makes _FC3 Classic_ different from _FC3?_ Does it still have the QTE knife fight with Buck? Still not over that. Still wouldn't replay that. There's also the secondary dialog problem, that all the mooks seem to be struck with embitterment and the clap. Contrast _FC2_ in which there were a few different types that had their own personality and didn't seem entirely despicable caricatures.

While this may not deal directly with Far Cry 3, it is a current Ubisoft issue. Many of their newer games come with Denuvo. The biggest issue with that is Denuvo no longer works with some processors. Now if it was the game not working it would be a different issue, but it's Denuvo, the program that they put in to stop piracy. This kind of shit makes me just want to pirate every Ubisoft game from now on. Thing that really set me off was Shenmue I & II. On the videos for it they mention Denuvo as a feature. How is something that hinders my ability to play a game be a feature for the customer buying and trying to play it?

FarCry 3 was the peak of the series, FarCry 4 was the same game but in Asia, FarCry 5 is the same game but in America.
John Mista (3 months ago)
Ode to Far Cry 2 fanboys: God how I miss sniping someone a mile away only to have them pin point my exact location. Ode to their laser accuracy, their ability to shoot a fly with an ak from yonder. Yay to the malaria and voice overs that played at 1.5x speed. Woe to the gone days of cleared checkpoints, responding after walking away a mere 5 feet. What I would not do for the non-existent faction AI that was masked with the glorious, 'your undercover, so everyone will attack you' plotpoint. The lost days of the realism of the gun degradation that rusted and jammed my brand new riffle.
TheCosta5000 (3 months ago)
Still better than 5.
ImNotYourBroom (3 months ago)
6:58 The Witcher 3 and Deus Ex Human Revolution also had this problem, but it was more of a minor annoyance than a big gameplay flaw. Deus Ex solved this problem with the Icarus landing system, which allows you to survive any fall- an example of making your character better instead of merely competent.
chrislsommers (3 months ago)
No thanks. Fuck those radio towers.
bopp9 (3 months ago)
The worst part of the radio towers is they could have been a really good adition had they been implemented better (better as in at least good). The over gameplay mechanic for the game doesnt work with how the radio tower climb was designed to make it interesting, had they polished the game more they could have made it work or implemented a special gameplay mechanic when it came to just radio towers. It is hard to explain while climbing and jumping is more interesting is platformer games as compared to RPGs. They also definently should have cut out the obligatory part of climbing them. Or better yet they could have made the radio towers a lot less repetetive, more unique per tower, lesser in quantity, more in quality, and best of all an optional part that is very challenging and just as rewarding as challenging.
False Name (3 months ago)
I'm not sure the "mighty whitey" criticism holds in this particular instance. Yeah, the main character ends up pretty powerful (although he has to grow into it, but that's a separate point), but his mates start out useless and end useless, and there are also plenty of powerful characters who aren't white. What's more, the protagonist had to be an outsider to the island for his arc to work. Yeah they could have made him black, but he still kinda had to be a priveleged westerner so I'm not sure how much difference that would really have made.
Sunny Lovett (3 months ago)
Heh, thinking back and remembering the Far Cry 2 safehouse that they put right in the middle of a checkpoint. Somehow I don't think they thought that one through.

I am wondering why most devs ask for more money for their remasters (Skyrim, Dark Souls and now Far Cry 3), while previous owners of Red Faction Guerilla got the remaster for free just 4 days ago.

climbing the radio towers were legitimately my favorite thing in far cry 3...... and then maybe sniping everybody in an outpost from a safe spot where they'd never reach me.... the actual story missions were pretty hit and miss... and the misses were enough to make me just kinda hate the story missions all together..... and i just couldn't give a flying fuck about the protagonist or their story..... and instead imagined i was some sort of demon that had possessed him and that's why he couldn't actually die..... and then i'd drive right into the middle of whatever outpost i was heading to and die so i could respawn in the area and go find some high ground to snipe from.
