3D Touch to move the cursor is the #1 thing that comes in handy.. but I didnt know you can select certain sentences if you push harder! wow! selecting, copying, and pasting has just became a lot easier for me. I use notepad all the time

You can 3D Touch the left side of the screen on a iPhone 6S, 7 or 8 to “peek” your recent apps: 📲 Press further to ”pop” to your recent apps (equivalent of double clicking home button), or slide your finger halfway to the right. Slide all of the way to the right to quickly jump to the last app used.

If you leave your car downtown, or in a new location, 3D Touch Apple Maps to "Mark your Location". It only takes a second, and I always do this. You don't even have to wait to see where it marked it. Now, if you can't find your car, open Apple Maps, click on "Marked Location", and be guided back to your car!

Nathan Smith Photography right, I get you now, thats where the confusion was. I thought you were talking about being *in* the app, now I get ya
Nathan Smith Photography (5 months ago)
Thomas Horsman , With 3D Touch you don’t even have to open Maps first. Which iPhone do you have? And if you press and hold on the icon on a phone without 3D Touch the icon jiggles and the “X“ shows up to delete the app.
Thomas Horsman (5 months ago)
Nathan Smith Photography if you press and hold it does exactly the same thing as 3D touching then clicking my location then after that pressing mark my location. In this case 3D Touch slows you down
Nathan Smith Photography (5 months ago)
Thomas Horsman , this has everything to do with 3D Touch. It only works if you have 3D Touch on your iPhone. It sounds like you don’t know what 3D Touch is.
Thomas Horsman (5 months ago)
This has nothing to do with 3D Touch, it’s just touching and holding that pins the location

3D Touch is honestly one of the most underrated iPhone features

I already knew all these. The trick is to try to 3D Touch everything. This way you can find out about all of its uses.

There is one I was not aware of untill recently. In my iPhone 8+, 3d touch the middle left of the screen to get to the recent apps. And if you 3d touch the same area then swipe to the right of you have more than one app open will switch over. I doubt that is on the iPhone x since you can swipe the bottom home bar.

I didn't know a few of these but I noticed if you 3D touch on a folder that has badges in it, it'll show those badged apps in the pop up. Thanks for the tips!
Andrea M7 Jones (6 months ago)
Maybe it doesn’t work on the iPhone 7.
SilentMovement 305 (6 months ago)
Andrea M7 Jones it does go to settings and look for 3D Touch and set it up to your liking
Andrea M7 Jones (6 months ago)
Every time I touch an app or try the camera it doesn’t work.
Andrea M7 Jones (6 months ago)
It didn’t work for me what I’m I doing wrong otherwise it’s pretty neat. Not working for me tho.
Diego (6 months ago)

Robert John Guiyab (6 months ago)
3D Touching the left side of the screen will bring you to multitask or going back to an opened app.

I pretty much know every iOS feature yet I’ve never heard about tip n.5. Nice.
niceshyguy (6 months ago)
The most frequent way I use 3D Touch is to clear all notifications; if you 3D Touch the (X) that appears on a section of notifications, it will give you the option to Clear All notifications instead of section-by-section.
Nathan Smith Photography (6 months ago)
You ROCK! Great tip!
Varun Luthra (6 months ago)
niceshyguy that’s the reason I didn’t buy SE all though it’s the best form factor. SE with 3D Touch and Face ID would be the best iPhone ever.

For those of us still rocking a home button, 3D Touch from the left edge to launch multitasking. This is definitely my most used 3D Touch feature.

I love 3D Touch. I use it constantly. Good tips you showed for those just getting familiar with it.
Tinu Thomas (6 months ago)
3D Touch is so underrated, I feel like people actually use it way more than they think because it’s just natural and they never think about it. That happened to me when I lost my 7+ and had to use an SE for a bit and I quickly realized how much I needed 3D Touch.
Clayton Bridge (6 months ago)
Tinu Thomas wow! I had no idea 3D touch was so useful! I look forward to having it when I get one of the newer iPhones!

3D Touch google maps to bring up destination shortcuts.
sfb706 (6 months ago)
This is helpful, I don't really use Apple Maps so this is good to know!
Nathan Smith Photography (6 months ago)
Cool! And even though I use Google Maps mostly, if you 3D touch on Apple Maps, you can instantly "Mark your location", great when you leave your car downtown or in a new location.

The only thing I've found 3D touch useful is using it as a cursor, otherwise it's as good as dead. By the way, what's the case on your iPhone X?
MacRumors (6 months ago)
It’s pretty much the same but this one is from totallee. Can buy one on amazon
Scarboy6693 (6 months ago)
https://mnmlcase.com/products/apple-iphone-x looks like that one
