Zeus presents Jet Pac (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game. Year of release: 1983 Ahhh, what a classic! Extremely addictive! Forever playing this back in the day and to my surprise i never got so far in the game until now while i was recording it for youtube!,...strange. Anyway, there are 16 levels (4 for each spacecraft) then it rolls back to level 1, fantastic game!!!!!!!!!! Hope all you Spectrum fans enjoy this upload. Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing. I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any. Check out my channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/ZEUSDAZ/videos), dedicated to gamers who loved the games of yesteryear. Switch to 480p for best video quality and feel free to leave comments on my channel and vid's. Keeping the memory of the Spectrum and it's cool games alive!!!

Would've never known this game existed if it wasn't for Donkey Kong 64.

Сейчас смотрю и думаю, как это лёгкая и неинтересная забава. А в детстве было трудно и классно.

I have the Vic 20 version (req 8k/16k ram exapnsion) and the Speccy version .. both good, I remember this being an advanced game for the time I always keep that memory intact I always imagined the game to be like the loading screen before I played it properly so there was sort of an anticlimax but I was always in denial and let my imagination run wild with the high hopes I had for games development as far as I was concerned I didn't take hardware limitations into consideration I just assumed that computers with the option to add more RAM would be limitless.

Jet Set Willy and Airwolf also great games on the spectrum

I really loved this game. If you hit a key many times you could pause it for a second. You could actually watch how detailed the Astronaut moved his feet - or how the laser hit the Targets. How the balloons imploded really was awesome. I believe it was the shift key - one of the left keys down.
Tried JET PAC+?! Called Jet Pac Advanced,...on my channel ;-)

This reminds me of No Mans Sky....actually, it is the same, only graphics is worse.
George Vasquez (9 months ago)
gazyatri Except, Jetpac delivers on its promise compared to No Man's Sky.

Would of course have been tougher if you would have had limited ammo AND AI would have been more intelligent, avoiding your shots.
Roberto Jaketti (1 year ago)
Johan Retsler this game is perfect as it is, mainly the spectrum version, theres always someone who needs to cry about ' duh it should have been like this, blabla ', in every existing game ever, theres always a way to find an imperfection on anything. Im a gamer since the first Pong machines, speccy version of this game is a classic.

And it ran at 3.5`mhz, which is probably slower than the computer running your fridge.
Mark Saunderson (2 years ago)
There was no room for more complicated AI. It had 16k of memory to fit into with no other storage, , not today's gigabytes of ram and terabytes of hard disk.

I played it when I was 7 !

This game is the reason why it took me until 2004 to beat Donkey Kong 64 (I got it in 2000)
One of the most playable and enjoyable games ever made :-)

I used to absolutely rule at this game.. This and Penetrator was my favs.
+Svarthammarholet Penetrator easily the best Scramble clone on the speccy (longplay on my channel), and as for Jet Pac,...one of the most playable games ever along with Speccy Chuckie Egg :-)

In the days before Primates retreiving their bananas back from crocodiles, Bears with birds in their backpacks, Squirrels who got drunk and met things that cursed their heads off, Secret Agents who shared programming codes, Toads who traversed through hard as hell places, and people who fought each other with ultra combos, there were Spacemen who tried to rebuild their spaceships and Jungle Explorers who looked for an amulet of a wolf. The jungle explorer got stuck in ice in 1984.

+ZEUSDAZ - THE UNEMULATED RETRO GAME CHANNEL It looks like a fun game to play. I never had the ZX Spectrum and it was never released on the MSX, although several clones were released.
No problem, one of my most enjoyable to play uploads :-D

Thing about Jet Pac is that here we have a game with colour, sound, bags of playability and has that elusive "just one more go" factor and all this in a game that was written for the 16K Spectrum. Yes when compared to games of the modern ilk or even games for the 16 bit it does tend to pale but call it nostalgia on my part but I think there is a lovely innocence and enjoyment to this game that you simply don't get in many games.

Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel i loved Pssst also
Next to Chuckie Egg on the speccy, this has to be one of the most addictive games out there that i've ever played even to this day, I had great fun doing this upload :-D
Honza Peregrin (4 years ago)
I am pretty sure you got a "game over" because you got killed, not because the game is over..as far as I know, the game goes on and on..
Honza Peregrin (4 years ago)
I get it, thanks for the explanation.
The game never ends, i just made sure i completed all 4 rockets (4 stages each making 16 in total) before it goes back to rocket no.1,...then i died.
Each to their own comment i guess :-/

I loved this when I was a kid, but looking at it now, it's just bollocks.
A game i was very good at :-)

Ohhhh... Ultimate Play the game... another awesome game!!
@alex76gr Thanks. Funny thing is i never got this far in the game all those years ago and yet after just two practice runs i played out of my skin and cleared all 16 levels :-)
alex76gr (6 years ago)
This game is dangerously addictive. I just love it. Your skills in Jetpac are great!
