Real life experience sercumstances is the best teacher not a simulator

No because hand's on in real time is the best teacher not a simulator

Pretty noob here. What were those spinning wheels near the flap lever?
GreatFlyer (20 days ago)
Hi, this is a world where you never stop learning. They are the stabiliser trim wheels, operated via two switches on the yoke, but they can manually be moved themselves in an emergency.

Does X-Plane have an accurate representation of PMDG NGX/737-800? @flightdeck2sim says he used FSX years ago but I believe X-Plane is the go to SIM now is it not?

Don't call my flight simulator a "game"! You are instantly my enemy! And with over 12.000 flight hours, in the last 30 years, 6500 between 2014-2018, I am sure, that a lot of simmers out there including me, wanted to sit on the same seat, tying to do the same!

Unite speed is kias or Mach, cap hdg is xxx degres !...vsi vertical speed must be in fts/min feets per minutes, weight is in lbs pounds...radio frequencies are in Mhz.
hassan Doukkali (1 month ago)
remember your ils frequencies looks likes xxx.xx Mhz !. do not forget to activate GPWS for easy sound landing configuration...

Good job overall! I can't believe the instructor told you to bring the power to idle at 30 feet. Very scary. I don't know anyone that does that. You saw what happened to the landing. I don't think he flies the real airplane. That works on the Airbus, not the Boeing - especially the -900.
its Ridiculous that people think Flying is all a pilot do
Joe Smith (1 month ago)
I flew the original flight sims through the 80s and 90s. When I began my real flight training, I was like... this shit is easy. Did my solo very soon after, and have loved flying ever since.
Smart Biz Web Media (1 month ago)
Watch how fast the pilot trainer fled the cockpit before the plane was brought to a complete stop.

krialaison 01 (2 months ago)
if he stopped saying wow every 3 seconds we could get some work done
krialaison 01 (2 months ago)
the aircraft will tell you retard retard if you haven't bought the power levers back at 10 feet above the ground, its to remind the pilot to bring the power back, mostly used in low visibility or when landing in fog and when using autoland, so you rely heavily on the aircrafts instruments to tell you what to do and when to do it.. my mates a pilot he told me this
GreatFlyer (2 months ago)
The 737 will not announce "retard", that's an Airbus thing. Retard is only annunciated on the PFD's FMA when thrust is brought to idle, e.g. in level change mode.

I think it's good that we have games and simulators than encourage learning to operate machinery. Sure it won't be perfect but I am am convinced that most people would pass landing an airplane intact with just some flight sim knowledge for example.

The reason FSX and other realistic flight sims are more than a game is that you are controlling things with basically the same controls as a real pilot. Video games are not like that. You are not swinging a real hockey stick or baseball bat.
Jered Hersh (2 months ago)
I would love to do this, but with an older aircraft like a Lockheed Constellation or a DC-3
Luxaly (2 months ago)
so in a severe emergency where the cief flight attendant ask ist there any pilot its better to get a simmer then one with 0 knowledge... when ever i flay i will tell them that incase something happens i atleast know a little bit increasing chances of survival
Max Felt (2 months ago)
nice landing but no butter :(
Ninja Please (2 months ago)
Apparently you don’t need an elaborate simulator to learn how to fly a Bombardier Q400. Just gotta ‘play some video games’ and you’ll be doing loops over the Puget Sound in no time.

I love flying planes to I thought about being a pilot but flight school is pretty long I think I’m going to stick with oil rig job they get paid good

Play FSX or X-Plane11 for pc OR Infinite flight or Xplane 10 for mobile..I play infinite flight cause there is global online multiplayer..

Im no Commercial Pilot nor do I want to be. But as a glider pilot I have to say: xplane, fsx are the best. Here in germany you really can't fly a glider in the cold months so you'll have to keep active by playing simulators. And it really helped me. Also I used to be kinda bad at finding lift in thermals. But after training each and every night at the sim, I sorta got it right at my second flight after the winter break. Even my instructor was kinda impressed back then. He genuinely asked if I had trained in any way and was surprised when I answered "yes, at home". :D Flight sims are great and can even help you understand and perfect simply flying skills. Thumbs up!
Eli Malinsky (2 months ago)
FSX is so accurate it is actually used regularly by pilots when they don't have access to a full cockpit mock-up simulator and have some time to spare to practice different scenarios, hard landings and stuff like that. I recently found X-Plane 11 to be the most accurate and feature rich simulator commercially sold for gaming PCs. X-Plane simulates airflow to the most minute detail and for that reason alone it requires a beast of a CPU.
APM 08279 5255 (2 days ago)
Eli Malinsky P3D is just FSX but even more realistic

Who else came here after the stolen plane in Seattle ;)
S F (3 months ago)
Hardest simulator landings for me were FSX with 1/16 mile visibility right down to the ground, (ILS); and Falcon 4.0 (F-16) with my wife throwing M&Ms at me.

You should really consider going to flight school and becoming a pilot for a major airline. Without a doubt you could do it.

It seemed like a pretty steep approach, but not hearing the callouts between 500 and 50 ft, it makes it harder to tell. Still...not too shabby for a 1st landing!!!

In older movies, if the pilots were incapacitated they might ask, "Is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?" Now they can ask, "Is there anyone on board who plays video games?"
mynameisray (3 months ago)
Waste your time and money on a sim instead of getting your actual license.

I wonder if it's possible to buy these kinds of flight simulators ( I know they'd be very expensive) but it's the one thing that i would love to buy if i ever became rich.

Can a flight simmer land a fflight sim ?
Fubar AlAkbar (3 months ago)
I was going to make that very point--I'm glad you made it first. Show me a flight simmer with no real-airplane experience landing a REAL 747, and I'll be impressed.

Peter Bruns (4 months ago)
This is a PROFESSIONAL flight simulator and costs upwards of $15 million. It doesn't have nice pretty graphics because real pilots are paying more attention to instrument and cockpit procedures.

After 12,000+ hrs in 737s, I still remember my first time at the controls of the 737, how exhilarating it felt! I was starting IOE and flying LGA-ATL rwy 13, LGA 5 (or whatever number it was then), Whitestone climb. I had several thousand hours in RJs but the feel of that 737’s engines at full power felt like I’d just been tossed onto a rodeo bull! The simulators in the training center have come a long way and feel a lot more like the real plane nowadays but nothing is exactly like flying the real plane. For all the desktop experts, I can assure you that any routine landing in Las Vegas, Reno, or Key West would blow your mind!
ferrarigirl666 (5 months ago)
So, a flight simmer in another simulator... Still nothing like a real thing, the responsibilty of hundred lives, a multimillion dollar airplane, many lives next to the runway and underneath you... Stress adding to it change everything

He should have cut the throttle at 20 to 10 feet...weight matter...also if cutting the throttle above this range increases the sink rate...so, smoothly reduce the throttle at 10 to 15 feet...than u ll get better touchdown...and good flare timing is the key to better landing...

I started flying Fs 6 when i was 13, played all the flight sims till prepare3d and I have to say you learn so much from them, especially about raw data instrument flying. Since this hobby started with Microsoft flight sim I flew the A320, A330, B777, B787 with close to 5000 (real) hours. Keep your hobby while you start flying the real thing! Ignore the haters, you are on the right path! Best of luck!

Nice, I’ll get to find out if I can do the same in a couple of weeks. I spend so much time on my immersive sim, I feel fairly confident in my ability to take it from maybe 1000 ft from TOD and then hand fly the glide slope in. Maybe I’m nuts, I’ll know in two weeks. I’ll record it for my channel but I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to set up cameras
