● What's up guys - Stix here. Today marks the one year anniversary of my Top 10 Most Played MMORPGs in 2016 video.
It was only 6 minutes long, but went on to gain over 750,000 views, thousands of comments and likes, and become the fourth most popular video overall on our channel.
● Now, I recently asked the community what Top 10 video they wanted next, and over 2,200 users voted.
66% requested a "Top 10 Most Populated MMORPGs In 2018" video. Meaning, the 10 most populated MMORPGs going into 2018 for people that want to invest time into.
Because let's be frank here - nobody wants to invest time into a dead MMORPG, right?
● Let me preface the video by saying two things:
● 1.) These games aren't listed in any specific order, but they are ● the 10 MMORPGs with the most active populations nevertheless.
● 2.) Most MMORPGs and their deveolopers no longer report accurate population numbers. Therefore these are ascertained through various means.
● Now let's take a quick look at which games are still active.

i been playing runescape 3 for a while now and the combat system is very very good pvming is really skill based and you have to actually use your brain even tho early game doesnt seem that full end game is incredibly challenging and fun. i really recommend everyone to atleast watch a few PvM videos of runescape 3 something like Vorago, Telos, AOD, Raids
List by Brainstorm Surge,
but wanted to add a few things.
10. Elder Scrolls Online
: Don't buy from steam. Is really annoying in minor details unless you subscribe (limited bank/bag space).
9. Guild Wars 2
: Only played vanilla, but it is grindy, lots of exploration, but grindy.
8. Black Desert Online
: Uses Xigncode (3 or 1, who cares, is awful).
7. EVE Online
: Not much into "spaceships only" combat.
6. Blade and Soul
: Xigncode (3 or 1, who cares, is awful).
5. Secret World Legends: Dunno about this, just that not many play it.
: Uses Xigncode (3 or 1, who cares, is awful).
2. Final Fantasy 14
: Big mmo, but TOO slow combat if you come from WoW.
1. World of Warcraft: Beautiful world and races, but lacks dynamic (or interesting) questing.
Edit: single space from double space.
Guild wars isn't free to play. Everything but the expansions. Frankly, most of these games suck. WoW is a trash game that exist only because nostalgic players. It isn't the most played mmo either. The mechanics and gameplay are things that need to die.
You didn't even include neverwinter on this list I noticed. Or star trek online. Both great games.
EVE has a ton of players using several accounts. The most hardcore will have 10, and perhaps play up to 5 at the same time.
It's safe to say that the playerbase of EVE online is maximum half that of the accounts logged in during a time frame, and personally I think it's about a third.
I want to try FF14, but I still have a good amount of time being taken up by WoW. While the game has definitely declined going from Legion to BfA, I still find a lot to do. Plus, WoW is one of the few games that lets me play as a non-feral werewolf :D
You missed a few ...
Ultima Online the Grandfather of all MMOs and still with a large Playerbase ... Lords of the Ring Online ... SWtoR ... Dark Age of Camelot ...
All of them are far way from being dead Games ...
runescape always has 50-80k players logged in at and given point in time. how can you possibly suggest that there are only ~100k players that play every month? It was confirmed early 2018 that there were over 200,000 monthly subscribers, who knows how many are active in total.
We starting a competition gameing club and if anyone wants to join hit me up we have a house with 7 rooms set up for video games and lots of people to hang out and watch it's like a party everyday soon we will all be getting paid for this. Thanks for all your support keeping the dream alive
I scroll down the comment section just to search for people who play Blade and Soul xD I just really love the story, it feels classic. The graphic are nice buuuttt the world building is the most awesome!! Not only that, the bgm is also very nice and the gameplay is good as well :3 I wish I have someone to talk about it :")
dis dude mentioned all the old school mmorpgs expect fusion fall witch is back btw and there now working on a updated version called fusion fall legacy maybe because its a kid game but its still lit af
Its so sad to see the rpg genre slowly very slowly dying
We need a game to break that death a medival fantasty rpg that is cross paltform (since that will make it alot more alive) and perhaps free with good graphics and optimization
Is this too much to ask? Imo its not
+Andrew Gaubert i see,
I really feel down for not seeing a good very alive mmo rpg
Its all battle royale games and fps
Its really boring cant anyone come up with anything new
I like warframe but it very sadly doesnt have the fantasy or the rpg elements i would love in a game
_wish we could turn back times to the good old days_
Take that passion and invest it, friend. A lot of these more recent companies are setting up the games around net profits, and that's why they ultimately fail. I know the people are tired of hearind this, but just look at Bless. Or even Archeage. Both could have been amazing RPG experiences, but both were ruined by focusing on the payed aspects of the game and ignoring the game itself. I wish I could say I knew what it takes to make and launch a 5 star budget MMO, but I don't. A part of me feels like these companies just don't do any of it for the love of RPGs anymore. It's for the secured profit..
GW2 is maybe the best MMORPG to play right now. I tried it once but maybe i chosen the wrong class that's why i did not like it. But i gotta admit Tera would be in the top if they corrected some major problems of the game.
I played a lot of gw2 and i gotta say the pve is cool and all but pvp is unbalanced. And every expansion we got new talent builds that surpass the previous ones heavily. Not all of them tho. Its very friendly. Players are friendly. And no p2w mechanics. But i feel like the design is stale. Grinding is a stale concept to me i think. I tried wow too. Got to 80 in Wotlk but its just so borning imo at max lvl. I feel like grinding is just for brain deads. But depending on the process. If in diablo 3 you wanna grind items. Its a much more exciting experience because its fast paced. Especially when lots of mobs are present. In wow it just felt like spamming the same 4 5 6 skills over and over waitting for the mob to die. Sometimes i think people dont even realize they are not having fun anymore because they have been doing dungeon grinding for so long it has become a habit. Looking forward to new designes. I think pvp focued mmos will be the future of mmorpgs. Live Faction vs faction vs faction gameplay would be so cool. Actually fighting players for resources is what i think mmorpgs should be about.
The PC community has grown a good deal in a really limited time frame and there isnt any reason to believe the game wont be equally as addicting for Xbox players. The Honest to Goodness Truth on Pubg Warrior Pack
Nevertheless, its always tough to locate a trustworthy seller of a Black Desert account on account of the risk involved in these sorts of transactions. Bring on such a desert map! We guess because its about becoming the lone survivor, even if theres a lot of teamwork on the way.
The game will probably remain in early access for some moment. It continues to attract new players that are hoping to get that sweet, sweet chicken dinner. This usually means youre have to begin downloading the game at midnight, and after that begin playing once PUBG is installed. There isnt just one play through of Black Desert that ends up the same because its up to the player to determine the method by which they level. Because of this, players will need to use the Xbox Game Preview program to be able to play the game. Xbox One players might have to wait somewhat longer for the full-release edition. They will also be able to purchase some exclusive content in the form of special cosmetic packs.
