Is Wood's real name Adam Hawker? I am wondering this do to the E3 name badge hung on the skyward sword cardboard stand up directly behind him.

So many good memories, I remember playing the illusion of Gaia and that game kinda set it off for me searching for games like that. I jumped from that to GameCube funny enough cause my family wasn’t huge on gaming. Windwaker was my first Zelda game at about 10 and that opened my world to this just amazing story for me where I just got so immersed spending a good chunk of free time on it. Played it over 3 times to get the extras and just could never put it down. Bought me a DS and played all those Zelda games yet couldn’t bring myself to get a Wii. Now my friend in between this time let me borrow his NES and Zelda copy and it was awesome funnily enough going back many years but I loved it. So when breath of the wild dropped I said I need it. Went and got the switch and the game... took that plastic off and that crispy sound of removing it got me excited. Plopped it in and as soon as I started from then till now with the DLC it just brings back a lot of good memories that Zelda has made for me growing up. Zelda always allowed me to make this adventure I couldn’t go out and do cause I couldn’t go out either and it in a way opened up my world and it was just awesome. That escaping feeling you described hit home.

I hope Nintendo recognizes that their games do so much more than provide entertainment.

This is the same reason I’m a gamer, the very first game I played was Twilight Princess, and I loved it!

Zelda is awesome because it adds the puzzle element to a fun game. the story really gets you into the game. It really makes it challenging but fun at the same time

The first game I ever played was Ocarina of Time on the 3DS and that's why it's the best game I've ever played!

I'm sure I'm not the only person in the comments to say that you pretty much said exactly how it was with Zelda. My first game was majora's mask, but it was my cousin's system. It all had started from there

I'm 4 minutes into the video and this is great and all but. *you had a job at the age of 13. And a console cost only 60 dollars what.*
PsychoCow101 (1 month ago)
the way you explain it makes it seems like the first part (Ocarina to Twilight Princess) happens in the space of a couple of months lol

I'm really happy you had your Nintendo 64 when you were a kid. My fiancee wasn't ever able to come out of her room either. She understood what you said really well. We both have loved Zelda our whole lives. Im old enough for the oldest Zelda games but, A Link to the Past was my first experience. It felt immense!

I have always wanted to play zelda since 5 years ago, and I finally got breath of the wild. It was what I expected, the best game I have ever played.

Man we're in the same page, I love zelda even though my friends didn't like it, so I have to play it by myself and I thank them cause that's how it's supposed to be played.

Another Aussie here. My first Zelda game was Minish Cap. My brother bought a copy but ignored it because he was playing something else and I got really into it. And of course because his older sister thought it was fun, he wanted it back. After a pretty noisy argument, we were back at Myer the next day so I could use my Christmas money to buy my own copy. I was also bullied a lot so games and books were a safe haven. Zelda is good at taking you away from bad things and into something wonderful.

I never really got into Zelda I played twilight princess and windwaker when I was like 12 but some of the puzzles were to challenging and I stopped playing it, I really wanna get majoras mask for my 64 cuz its the most interesting game imo and I wanna get breath of the wild but BOTW but it’s really expensive and I don’t know if I’ll like it.

Honestly the reason I love Zelda is pretty much the same reason you did, I was a kid that didn't go out much and so I would play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks to escape from the pretty depressing life I was living. Sure I had Pokemon (which don't get me wrong, I loved it too) but for some reason I come back to Zelda because it felt like an adventure to me when I never saw my life being like an adventure. My DS was like one of my only friends back then and I still hold PH and ST really close to my heart because of that. Thanks for the great video. Keep up the good content!

I've been playing zelda games since I was around 5, and I've always loved them, but I fell even more in love with them a few years ago when I was in hospital and when I was diagnosed with autism. I loved exploring hyrule and it really took my mind off things, so I can relate to you there lol.

Twilight Princess was my first Zelda game and is my favorite game of all time. I actually could never get into Ocarina of Time. I think it was partly because of the graphics. My first console was GameCube so N64 graphics looked so archaic to me.

I started playing Zelda OOT when I was quite young. For me it was a way to escape the every day abuse and violence in my life. Though, not even gaming was safe. Sometimes my pops would take my n64, or turn of the power, or stuff like that. He sold/threw my original n64 and my original old games. Which today would have a good value. I had to rebuy some of my collection and got my beloved OOT back again. My siblings probably had it worse as most of the times my pops turned of the power, was to attack them. They had ps1, so I was like hiding in my room to game my n64 (which was a Christmas gift with OOT). I am glad I had that. Screaming and violence. Yeah... not a good time. Zelda was the only thing that saved me.

This vid is great, had a similar experience to zelda but starting with alttp. The childhood story at the breaks my heart, I'm glad you found zelda and video games in times of need. I also think I ruined my love for breath of the wild by taking a long weekend off from work and spending 16 hours or so while the wife was at work just locked with the switch, I now put it on and I'm like meh... and I can relate with twilight princess if finished it twice, once on Wii and the hd remake, I probably would have loved it on gamecube the Wiimote on that one didn't do it justice

A little late to the comments here, but I’ve never met someone who loves Zelda as much as I do. Wind Waker was my first and I played it at my cousins for the first time and did so many chores to save up to buy it for myself and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I’ve bought every main title and any Knick knacks I could lol thank you for making this video.

For me my first experince with legend of zelda was phantom hourglass, in the uk the N64 was destroyed by ps1 in my local area to the point I had no clue who mario was untill 2003 when I got the gamecube, I still hadn't heard of zelda though untill I saw my friend playing windwaker at his house in 2006 and I loved the artstyle, so I bought phantom hourglass in 2007, loved it then played oot on an emulator in 2009 didn't love it XD, But Zelda has rapidly become one of my favourite franchises.

Relatable 100%. I started with Link to the past, and honestly I replay it at least once a year when depression kicks in. I find myself singing (shouting) along to the themes while playing. Heck I sing those songs while exploring the BOTW's hyrule. Here's your like and your sub. Awesome content

aand after almost a year i come back to this video to say... even If i didnt grow up in hyrule, even if breath of the wild was my very first zelda game, after completing everything there is to do in there, after watching a tone of related videos about legend of zelda, from amv, to animations, to reviews, to zeldie here, I am so in love with this franchise I just wanna buy everything there is about it, but unfortunately i dont have the money to get the other consoles so i am simply looking forward to any new zelda related game nintendo has to offer, and i HOPE they port as many of the big names as possible, because these games seem awesome! I cant wait for hyrule warriors in a few days!!
