So can Ray casting be in any game not just a shooter or is it the most effective in shooters only?

A realistic game might be about creating more realistic situations rather than having perfect physics behind it. CS:GO has a way of simulating weather conditions : it just makes the line that the bullet will follow be randomly angled away from the line you aim at. then if in real life in a certain situation you would have a 1/3 chance to headshot somebody because of the impredictability of the weather, of the shaking of your hands, and other unknown factors, the situation does not change if you just make it so that you have a 1/3 chance to hit a headshot in the same conditions. meaning the choices you make influence the situation realisticly, making gameplay realistic. (but in cs:go competitive gameplay, and not realistic gameplay, is the point)

The bullet spray in FarCry5 is totally ridiculous lol.. Incredible game overall, but those bullet physics are waaaay f*cked.
Oropher420 (1 month ago)
I never really cared about games with gun physics unless it’s Battlefield or a super realistic simulator you would find on a PC where Bullet deviation, drop, and travel has affect in the game

I prefer new shooters becuase it gives it a more thrilling aspect like say if you hit somebody from across the map in a old shooter where it acts like a laser beam its not nearly as exiting as when you land a shot in modern games that calulates the bullets tegectory

Goldeneye multiplayer was awesome back in the day. Glad I didn’t grow up with online multiplayer. Online gaming’s a helluva drug.

So. We keep using raycast but with new calculations or is it a totally diferent method ... I didn`t get the final idea of that. Very nice video

Well, tomorrow is today. Escape from Tarkov uses real, full bullet physics rendering the bullet. So everything is taken into account. When the full dynamic weather system is implemented, or rather, added back in it will make some people rage. (It's still in Closed Beta)

that was one of the things i liked about the stalker series, you had bullet drop and lower powered rounds would more easily bounce off lesser armor angles and was realistic enough that it was easier to play on the hardest difficulty because noone was a bullet sponge, the bullets did realistic damage

2:45 im not being rude or anything but you sayed that weather cannot stop a bullet from a kill and when u pull trigger the person you're aiming at is dead and cannot dodge bullets.. But how about in battlefield when ur shooting at long range it's like in real life bullets do not go straight but they go left or right so you need to shoot at perfect time to get that kill. Love ur channel √
in real life i think if u r shooting in direction North to South for example then ur bullet should be going slightly left becouse the whole damn planet is rotating towards East. I'm talking about long sniper shota of course.

Harrison Dula (1 year ago)
I wasn't really alive for any of those old Doom(etc.) games heck I was a child like small child when the older call of duty games came out, so I think I like the newer shooters better cuz that's what I'm used to, but Battlefront(old ones) will always hold a dear spot in my heart

Literally the only reason I hate Battlefield one is because I played primal at the same time. The arrows travel faster than the bullets.
Teemo McNuggets (1 year ago)
raycasts. (CS:GO for example.)
Gilmar Maia (1 year ago)
Way more important subject which wasn't even mentioned: Bullet penetration. I mean, most of the times bullets won't hit if opponent is behind a drywall, pile of cardboard boxes or a shitty wooden door.

My first serious FPS was Red Faction (2001) and in multiplyer that used the simple hit scan method, it did allow multiple targets with one projectile powerful enough like the 50 cal sniper and and railgun. There are also quite interesting ricochet effects where projectiles bounce off hard steel surfaces but unfortunate these did no damage to players. However in single player mode, this was a completely different story. Projectiles were subject to travel time and were even visible at low angles in their travel, not only that they also were influenced by gravity and curved down towards the ground. This was pretty amazing since the game released 2001 as dated back as far as 1997 in beta and alpha versions. The game also natively in both modes supported complete environmental destruction via explosives, mostly orientated around geological alteration. ie blasting holes and tunnels through solid rock and concrete, ice etc... Structures such as a bridge can also be brought down and smash into pieces on impact The last part sucked in a way because it was my first FPS I played and got into I also got used to the destructive environment engine and thought there was something wrong with all other games later on I tried to blow tunnel though walls not knowing that this was unique to this game in the complete destruction freedom. Also I will mention that rockets run out of fuel and plummet back to the ground in a realistic curve. Meanwhile the latest unreal rockets go forever lol. That's why I still play it today, just hard to beat some of the great old game tech that's not used today.
