105 ratings | 45568 views
Although it provides little functionality, iPhone/Java from Cydia proves that at the very least running and compiling java on your iPhone is quite possible. Download the test files I created: http://www.mediafire.com/?dkd22wggswfo4a7 Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/it0uchstuff Hope you enjoyed the video.

I'm not sure if this is the kind of Java that I've been looking for. Is this the type used to run games such as Runescape? Please respond.

Safari supports javascript too. You have to enable it in the settings.

You are thinking of javascript. To get javascript you need to download puffin browser on the appstore. No jailbreak required

Ahhh I should have mentioned you need to have your Cydia set to Developer. Go to Manage - Settings (top left) and select Developer.

I was under the impression it didnt, but I just tested it and it turns out you can very well use System.in to get input.

and the version of java on cydia doesn't have those standard java libraries? htt p://pastebin .com/eH1uf W0T

I use a nifty little program called Reflector. You don't need to be jailbroken either. Just google reflectorapp.

System.in.read() requires you to catch an IOException, but you can't write a try and catch block because you would need to import java.io.IOException :(
Hristian Danov (5 years ago)
how do you get your iPhone on you comp?
OSX86Geek101 (5 years ago)
why not just use System.in.read()?
iT0uchStuff (5 years ago)
nope, but using JOptionPane is a better way to get user-input.
